Partnership Overview

The National Black Graduate Student Association (NBGSA) is a 501 (c) (3) non- profit organization that is dedicated to improving the number of students pursuing graduate degrees, especially Black graduate students. NBGSA, established in 1989, has played a major role in engaging students by providing support through networking opportunities for all students, especially minorities in higher education.

We are delighted with what we have been able to accomplish to date, a history of 23 plus national and regional conferences at which we encourage innovative research in many disciplines, facilitating strong mentorship and networking among current and future leaders. We plan to continue building mutually beneficial relationships with key institutional and corporate partners, and we are excited about taking NBGSA to the next level.

Having an advance degree is more important now than ever before. History has taught us that education is the key to success. NBGSA is still a growing organization, and we depend on partnerships with businesses, institutions and other organizations in order to continue growing our membership and extending our services. We have carefully created a sponsorship program that will fulfill many of the needs of your organization as well as fulfilling our annual goals. NBGSA membership is open to graduate and undergraduate students, academicians, institutions, corporations and other groups and/or individuals who are interested in supporting students as they matriculate into higher education. The NBGSA does not discriminate or limit its membership to any individual/group based on race, creed, color, nationality, ability or sexual preference.

In these stringent economic times, NBGSA needs your assistance more than ever. As we try to increase membership and awareness of the need for higher education in an ever evolving society, NBGSA depends on sponsorship to keep our initiatives affordable to the students, faculty, and institutions that support our efforts. Institutions and organizations like yours provide the critical resources needed to carry out our important work. Our annual graduate/career fair is an excellent opportunity to meet interested undergraduate, masters, doctoral and professional students, as well as job candidates with terminal degrees. By participating as a sponsor, you help cultivate tomorrow’s workforce and invest in education today.

There are many opportunities to become sponsors of the national organization. We invite you to become a National Conference sponsor, purchase an advertisement for the 24th Annual National Black Graduate Student Conference Program Booklet, and/or participate in other commitment opportunities made available.
